high idle

high idle
I changed my clutch disc and other clutch parts and now the car idles at 2000RPM. It use to be 850. If i broke a wire in the 02 sensor would that cause a high idle? Also had the flywheel off. Thanks for any help.

I figure the only thing that can be remotely loose is the big line coming out of the idle control that's way up under the intake. But wow that is going to be a bitch.

I'm thinking TPS but that is a good question about the O2 sensor. I noticed that when my O2 got inadvertantly disconnected, my idle would not come back down quickly and sometimes hang around in the high teens. Bruce

Anyone ever had an idle that would cold start only a little high, then go up to around 1800 sometimes, maybe less... then after cutting it off and coming back while it's still warm having an idle of like 300?

That is sort of what mine does, however not quite as erratic. Mine idles cold at 800 and then goes up to 1300-1500 when it gets warm.

Mine used to do exactly that until I realized I had a cracked head (nothing to do with the idle, obviously). The only things I can attribute in that repair to fixing it were two "while you're in theres". I replaced all of the vac lines under the intake (I had previously done all of the small lines that you can easily get to without removing the intake) and cleaned the ISV. The ISV was nasty, and the large vac lines going to it felt like they were made out of plastic that has been left in the sun for too long.
