Northeast Dyno day, FINAL INFO
I had to rework the order on orders from Deman.
He would like all the 944s, 951s, 968s and 911's grouped together to speed the process.
He expects each car will take ~30 minutes.
Also, everybody has to sign a waiver. So if your car breaks its not his fault.
The first car can pull right into the shop, the second car up into the driveway. All the others on the street. Then we'll continue doing that...
Here is the new Order, please take note. I apologize for the last minute change. Those who requested a certain spot, I tried to keep it in about the same spot.

Well I have 2 cancels so far and if I can't get that O-ring I wont be able to dyno, but I'll come by anyway.
Wow what a great night, broken O ring and 2 people canceling...

It was a good time...but it would have been much better if people would have stayed to chat...maybe it was too nice a day??
Would've loved to see more cars run as well...
I'll post my charts later...but I got good results
240 RWHP and 220 lb ft of torque...bone stock dyno, 12 psi. I am one happy camper.
It is in question that the chips are stock or not...they appear stock and when the PO gave me to them he said they were stock. Deman said that they had burned the PO some motronic chips that look like stock chips though...
Either way, what are chips gonna do? 5, 10hp?? (without increasing boost)
Sorry about all the clutches
My heart sank when I saw my car get on there and start slipping initially...until they figured out how to get it going. First 2 runs needed a different method than the last one even.
Now to add some mods <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />
And yet dave still beat me at the autox with his slipping clutch... <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />

I was putting my car back together, I had no problems finding the place.
I woke up at 7:30, was at the auto parts place by 8:00...home at 9 with the new O-ring, between test driving and other stuff I left at like 11:30.

I've got questions about the neeed for a clutch. I changed the clutch 13K ago.
When at Deman I forgot that I got the old parts back, and they were dated 5 months before the car was first registered.
Dave and my car vibrated/slipped at the same RPM, which is the same 3200 that i have a vibration from what I thought was a heat shield.
I punched the car more than one time on the way home and watched the tach. as I punced the gas the tach and car moved at the same time.
if the clutch was slipping shouldnt the tach blip just a bit before i get a seat of the pants feel? Rick Deman said it was a new dyno and he was getting used to its quirks.
Im curious as to the condition of the 911's clutch he is replacing as a result of the dyno run.

Tom,
I'll let you know.
I experienced no problems at all (and I took the car up to 7,000 rpm 3 or 4x during the "test" drive)when I took the car for a spin after "slipping" on the dyno. No question that there was "chatter" while on that dyno. I don't believe my present clutch has more than 10,000-12,000 miles on it. So, we'll see what that clutch looks like on tuesday.
BTW, that dyno isn't "brand" new. I mean, DeMan purchased the dyno new and has had it for at least three months and a number of cars have been on the machine, including his 1,000 HP RS America racecar, and it's worked fine.
One thing you can do to test your clutch is see how it feels starting at the bottom of a hill in 3rd. Apparently, just driving on the road doesn't put enough load on the clutch to expose the problem?

The only reason I felt that it was prudent to leave was the parking situation the parking ticket officer gave notice that he was taking no prisoners. I would have been there til the bitter end otherwise.
Thanks again Adrial sorry to have missed you.

Now...this is what I don't understand.
A dyno doesn't produce enough load to get my turbo spooled up the way it does on the road...but a dyno produces enough load to make the clutch slip??
Something doesn't make sense...

Rich,
Im bumping this post up because i am VERY interested in your clutch's autopsy. My clutch has 12K on it, has seen no track time, and 1 season of autoX. At a few of the autoX's my wife gently drove the porsche and I drove the snot out of my/the/our RX7.
