Post block heater

This is a little early in the season, but it just crossed my mind... anyone ever put a block heater in their 944 to help with winter starts?

Yup, I have one in my '86 turbo. Otherwise those mid-winter -30C cold starts would be murder for the engine.

I believe the element itself is nordic DEFA brand, but they don't seem to be making these anymore. If you have access to some decent machinery, I don't see why you couldn't fabricate one though.

The element is located in the rear of engine, there's a metal plug to the water passages for it there.
