Post How do I get that $@#!$!@ wastegate off?!

4 bolts attaching the discharge pipe to the wastegate - REMOVED
1 bolt attaching discharge flange to the torque tube - REMOVED
2 bolts holding discharge pipe to the rest of the exhaust system - REMOVED

Now there's nothing holding the discharge pipe in the car.. except for the wastegate itself. I've given it a good talking to with feet, hammers, pry bars, some spary penetrating liquid, and even hanging myself under the car off the exhaust system.

$@!#@#!! SMASH!! I'm about to wait until the car is back together and tie that f ing discharge pipe to a pole as I speed away. Are these things always this impossible to get off?

I'm following the clarks-garage instructions to get the wastegate off (I wanna shim it) and it's not happening.

How have you guys gotten the wastegate off the car?

I've had mine off, following the instructions from www.lindseyracing.com . Take a look at that, as it was so long ao, i don't remember it all!

Nickhance,
I had the EXACT same problem.
I solved it by heating the stuck area with a propane torch followed by a mist of cold water. Repeat untill it pops free.
It works!
