OT: Going to Iraq- who's going with me??
Well ****- just found out I am getting activated and being shipped off to Iraq in a few weeks. Anyone else here military going to sandy places anytime soon?
Who wants to look after the P-car while im gone?

a friend of mine says hes almost definatly (tho its still unofficial) getting activated. he was pretty sure he was going to be going to boznia (sp?) to cover for troops they are rotating out. best of luck and be safe

Not to spoil the party but as you've probably been briefed, mission status and deployment infomation isn't exactly supposed to be public knowledge. Although we are a pretty tight group of guys, you never really know everyone on the list and many things are always left wide open. Just the fact that your going to be deployed and posted to this board can allow someone to know that units in your general area have been alerted and can start to gather general information on you, the unit, the mission and general time lines for the order. Most things are great to discuss but this is one of those subjects that should be left only to those in a closed circle that can be controlled. I'm not trying to be a *******, but as a career military NCO, operations security has become a paramount issue for ourselves and all those we take care of. Just my opinion but I think it's valid.

Not to completely disagree.... but it is public knowledge to the whole world that Americans deploy to Saudi, as we have for the past 10 years. It's like everything else, just watch CNN and you'll know everything!

If I go, you don't want to see me because I fly air evac, but we'll be there if you need us.
Just remember, the Air Force is the only service where the officers do most of the fighting. Guess that's because we have the expensive hardware.
