Couple Questions

I got a couple qestions about my 86 951
1.When car is parked, everything off, the parking lights will stay on and someimes come on out of nowhere and stay on. This drained my battery, so i pulled the fuse for the parking lights. What could this be? Bad headlight switch?
2.While driving my temp guage sometimes starts bouncing up and down rapidly, then returns to normal. Could this be a bad guage? The guages are electronic(I think?) so could it be a bad connection that is giving the guage a weird signal that makes it go crazy?
thanks
Mike

1 - Bad Relay! Always try replacing that first; I had the lights messed up on mine in more ways than one (see my Project: Kijo thread).
2 - Bad connection; mine also did this, when the wire was making contact with the engine, when it was loose.
When your engine is cool, check the temp sensor in the top of the engine; when you have the hood up and are facing the engine, it's just behind and to the righT of the connection to the air cleaner, I think; anyway, it's jammed (screwed into) into the top of the engine, with a wire slid over the 'thumb tack' head.
See if that is loose, and if so, slide it back on correctly. Mine snapped off, so I had to replace that.
I do hope these suggestions help!

I had a similar problem with the taillights on my Isuzu Impulse. They would come on by themselves after I had turned off the car. Made my battery go dead on a couple occaasions. It ended up being a bad switch.
