Propane power
#31
I was just going to ask about the burned valve on the BMW motor. Why is propane harder on valves? I'm guessing unleaded fuel still has some sort of (non-lead) valve lubricant in it. How much extra for the valve lube system?

It produces higher detonation temperatures and it is not as eficient cooling substance as regular gasoline, since it is in gas form.
I had bad injector on that one cylinder and it ran even leaner than it should, wich produced even more heat, and eventually it led to badly scored cylnder and that valve.
Basic rules of running LPG are:
1: use the best valve lubrication available
2: ignore those who say that german engines don't need these lubrication systems
3: maintain LPG system regularly.
I bought myself the best digital lubrication system available at this moment, but I still don't trust it, so now I will want them to install seperate lubrication lines to evey cylinder and than try to drive on Lpg again..

I bought this system. I think it is the first digital system, others including early versions of same manufacturer use only vacuum.. But still, I want it seperated for every cylinder. I paid €6k+ for new engine and don't want it to happen again.
