OT - Car Guy Garage Pictures
I'm looking for ideas for a regular residential garage. Not so much the pristine, ****-retentive perfecto garage - though I like those. But the semi-funky street rodder, hot rodder type with COke machines and enameled old signs in them. Anyone? Going ot redo my garage the way I've always wanted it. Complet with stenciled HUGE Porsche log across the back. Ideas? Pix? Suggestions?
P.S. Mentioned in another post. My (1926) house has two service pits(!!) in the floor filled over by a prior owner. I am going to jack hammer at least one of them out to see if they are still useable. Will that be cool or what? Also going with either the black/white tiled floor or the Rustoleum speckled floor paint - how do you get those speckles to be evenly spaced out?

A "little" over the top? <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />
I was hoping for a few pix of garageswith '32 Highboys, '55 Chevys and old 911's.
I dig this garage, but let's be honest, you have to be over on the other board talking to the 996 guys to expect anyone to have this garage.

Dan,
A service pit in the floor? That would be awesome! I'm interested to hear what you find after you jackhammer.
The PO of my 944 had a sweet garage under his house (in addition to his regular garage). There's a lift in the back and room for 2 other cars and plenty of bench and engine stand space. As you said about the other garage though, that's more for the 996 guys.

I used the floor paint with the speckles. You paint a section of floor, they toss them out by hand. I dont see how you could get them exact, but practice does pay off. I wasnt too concerned with the outcome, but it does look nice. I did try and keep track of how much I was using so could finish the floor though.

Here's the outside of my garage.
I'm still looking for my jpg's of the inside that I have. I've got car posters on all the walls, including a 6 foot long 911 poster.

Eh, I don't think I like the garage with the 996... I could just as easily see an El Camino SS sitting on those tiles, and a "Heartbeat of America" banner on the wall...
