well said...if done right, they are a good alternative to a snub, euro or 951 bumper. I'd add some mesh behind, painted black to lessen the opening appearance.

Well, he seemed to be on the fence about it a bit in his second post in this thread so a couple of us make some tonge-in-cheek comments. So f-in sue us. It was just some ribbing from a bunch of fellow enthusiasts.

I'm certain that you've never done the same, so enjoy the view from your very tall horse.

However, anyone have any good pics of the bumperette delete and whatnot.. I have yet to see a good clean bumperette delete... and how hard is this process? what all is required?

In order of ease of completion and rising cost:

1. Leave it stock
2. Euro Bumper
3. 951/S2 front end swap

Note that I left the "snubnose" or "I just drove into a wall" look off of the list on purpose. I hope that doesn't get anyone underoo's in a wad.

 

I like the way my 951 looks in person. Way more impressive than in a picture. Plus you get a clean looking front end that has provisions for all the needed items, Fogs, brake ducts, extra cooling. And its OE.

In all seriousness, alot of people seem to be going for an aftermarket look on the 944. I plan to go with the EVO front end unless a very good deal on a 951 front swap comes up in the next week. But I would like to have the EVO regardless when I really think about it, it is different, I can make the ducts all functional and I will have a 951 sooner or later added to the stable so why not have the NA be totally different?

 

yes...for a 951 front swap...fenders, bumper shocks, aluminum brace, headlight covers + surrounds, badge panel, fogs, signal lights, batwing...

Oh good sir, pardon me for saying that thou know not what you speak. The 951front end doth require some extra parts, but a bonnet is certainly not one of them. The fenders are well and truly different, however if thou were to envoke the search funtion and peruse my postings, thou would see that modifying the N/A fenders to fit is not too difficult. And the rest of the needed parts (header panel, headlight covers, etc) can also be found in list format by envoking the search function.

Look on ebay UK or ebay germany for a euro front bumper. I don't sprechen a lick of deustch (except for "zwei beer bitte") and I purchased and had one shipped here for the euro equivalent of $305 this past September. Remember that the exchange rate for the dollar was pretty sh!tty at the time. I just used an online translator and managed to communicate enough correct info to the seller to get the deal done.

On ebay germany search for either "Porsche stossange" or "944 stossange" There's usually quite a few rear bumpers for sale there.....just keep looking and you'll find a front one.
