I've been having some trouble lately opening my sunroof into the "tilt". Sometimes it wouldn't open at all, other times it would only go up an inch, sometimes two and then stop. I would solve the problem by gently pushing up the back of the sunroof, and then as time went on, I'd stick a key in that front switch in the headliner to depress the button, and that'd work.

It doesn't work anymore. I suspect that the front switch is the culprit. Is it one of those parts that can be easily repaired, or would I be better off just buying a new one?

Did you look at the unit in the rear just in front of the drivers side cubby next to the Spare tire on the side of the fender wall ? There is 4 little screws and bolts there that holds down 2 micro switches. I have seen those little guys fall out on at least 7 different 944's. My first guess would be to start there. g/l

While on the sunroof subject, anyone know if the sunroof hardware on an 86 is the same as an 88?

My sunroof is giving me problems and I have access to a really nice 86 parts car.

Another sunroof related question, about how high is the roof supposed to prop up? Does about an inch sound right?
