Hello everyone. I just purchased my first Porsche! It is a 87 944S/red/black interior with 46K. I would like to do a tune-up and wanted to know what everyone here suggest for a repair manual?I would also like to know where everyone buys their parts?
Thanks and look forward to being part of the group

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your p-car I have so far. There are some places that sell repair manuals either on cd or binders. Many here use haynes I think but it does not cover the twin cam S engine. I recommend doing the timing belt and water pump if it has not been done recently, as well as all the seals in the front. Also would pull the valve cover and check the chain tensioner, although it is a little early mileage wise. Would not be a bad idea to get it checked out by a porsche mechanic.

Welcome!! Haynes are rudimentary at best, but will still serve a purpose. Check out www.clarks-garage.com for ideas. You may wanna also cross post on the 944S specific board as well, a lotta good guys who know the "S" engine inside and out.

Welcome to Rennlist. As for parts, check out www.paragon-products.com www.vertexauto.com and www.pelicanparts.com among other sources. You can get a Haynes manual, download the factory shop manuals, or legally buy a set off Ebay for a couple hundred dollars. www.clarks-garage.com is also helpfull.

Another brand that I know is really good is Bently manuals.... Now, I don't know whether or not they make one for the 944S but you can always check... Congrats on the new car... I have owned mine for about 6 months now, and I hope that you have as much fun with yours as I have with mine...
