In many states you can pay a couple of dollars to the DMV and get someone's home address and other information from their license plate number. Imagine how many wacko's there are out there roaming free on the internet (there are at least a couple on this board...shhhh) and if they live in your state, stumble across a picture of your car, see your license plate number, decide for some reason in their paranoid dillusional mind that you are the reason they suck, go to the DMV, pay $5, get your home address, and procede to tie you up and torture you, you may want to photoshop out your lic. plate number too, just as a precautionary measure. Besides, some illegal activity is discussed on this board from time to time (removing pollution controlling devices *ahem* illegal street racing *cough* etc.), and you can match a car to someone's name fairly easily if you have a picture of their license plate and an electronic transcript of what they did/claim to have done, and possibly get them in trouble if you are a narc. Anyways, I always think it looks cool, like its in a rap video or something. I got the ability for someone to track me down from my license plate number removed by calling an 800 number and giving the DMV my license #, and I am sure in some other states you can do that too.

hey ribs, thanks for the insight.. that's what i thought, but never thought people cared enough to do sh*t like that. one could always use someone elses plate for real photoshop fun, like from a truck, a pinto, or worse, police car! sounds like more fun that way (just a geek/digital mechanic)...
I'll have a different plate every time, once i obtain several images of my Sportwagen/Coupé to play with.. targa, braun Metallic, 1983

Can't wait to post a pix, hopefully before the summer's over. I'll call it Air Force camoflage (pre Stealth black)-silver (original), grey primer, sky blue and maybe some white. Get the mental picture?
Don't worry folks, it'll be temporary until I can afford that $2k paint job. Aloha, Neal

Hey Vaughan, did you used to go to RPI? I think you were the President of the RSCA correct? I also ran the RSCA for two years back in 96 and 97 - heard a lot about you. Take care and nice cars,

Howz about a caption contest for this shot...
- "Hey, are we in China yet?"
- "That sign was clearly wrong... this road heads South!"
- "Okay boy, stand on your nose... Good boy!"
- "That Jon... always parking on the side of the building... what a show-off!"
- "Introducing Hoosier's stickiest tire every... 'Suckfoot' for the driver who doesn't want to fall off the track."
