As FlashGordon said, they did manage to finish the race. There was amazingly very little damage to the car. They just dried it out and changed the fluids, car started easily and they drove the rest of the race without a problem (other than being completely embarrased).
You've got to remember that the Targa is actually quite a complex rally through residential streets at speed, and many of the "teams" are just amateurs. Off-road rallies on closed roads is actually easier because you don't have the subconscious fear of hitting someone's house/car/pets/etc. Even Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz crash, i.e. "There are two types of rally drivers - those who have crashed, and those who will. If you haven't crashed, then you're not trying hard enough."
I give these guys kudos for getting back in the race and finishing, pride be damned. And it made for some great video to boot!
