Thumbs up

I used Mintex Racing Pads on my 924. They are kinda weak for about the first mile, but as soon as they warm up, they are awesome! I would definately recommend them, I am going to put them on my 931 as well.

i've got mintex pads on my street '44... they're awesome! i'm not sure if they're racing or what have you, but trust me they are an IMMENSE improvement over the stock pads on the 83.

go mintex!
or should i say.... stop mintex! <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

I have the PBR MetalMasters all around. The little drake dust they make can be wiped off easily.

I have Mintex "red box." Dirt cheap, available locally, no squeal, and very good cold manners. I have never experienced fade in the 944, but then I don't really flog it. I can lock up all four wheels at will, so obviously my tires are the limiting factor.

Any kind of organic pad, like red box, will dust like crazy. You just have to keep on top of it; remove, clean (I like to use Simple Green), and wax your wheels when you do your thorough car wash and wax.

The finish on my wheels kinda sucks anyway, so I'm doing an experiment and leaving the wax, not buffing it out, on the inside of the wheels.

YMMV.

Cross-drilled rotors are a waste of money unless you do serious track work, and then you are probably better off with slotted rotors. They won't make you stop any faster in street driving, if anything they would be worse because they have less friction surface.

They look damn cool, but evaluate why you want them and whether the "cool look" is worth the money.

Don't forget stres fractures.

One of those guys racing a 700ho Z-car had to pull out of a race once bcause his rotors had so many stress fractures.

Just found out a guy I semi do business with has cryo equipment, does barrells and motors. Have to look into it.

Oh and BTW on that note bidding 4 speerate contracts with the gummint. Big money many years deals. Already looking at the GT2 ot the local Porsche dealer.
