A pic from the shop.......
Stopped in yesterday to see the car getting prepped for paint. The 931 panel is on / primered and the windows are coming out.........
Lots of prep sanding left to do on the lower half of the body. The euro front bumper and the GT Racing rear are ready to go on as well.
It may be done by the weekend. ( I hope!)

It looks like its coming along nicely. Don't forget if you have the original style windshield you can just pull the thin rubber molding strip out from around the windshield for a nicer paint job, and then just put it back in when your done. It's just held in by a thin plastic channel.

Staying with the stock black color. Two coats of clear to top it off however. All the window mouldings are coming off as are the rear quarter windows.
I've been buying and stockpiling seals for the past two years. All the seals are getting replaced (window, door, windshield, hatch, inner and outer sunroof....even the drip rail seals) when the car goes back together. IMHO old weathered rubber looks lousy with a new coat of paint.
There was some bondo on the car from an dent repair between the rear edge of the drivers door and the leading edge of the LR wheel well. It was situated just above the stone guard. I don't know how old it was as it happened at some point in the car's history before I bought it. The guy who is doing the work for me removed the filler and massaged the dent back out. Great work and a fistful of bondo is no longer in the car.

The guy painting mine is goign to put two clear coats on, then wetsand the whole thing, and then one more clear on top of it all for a super deep gloss.
Not trying to threadjack, just sharing my bit.

Since they're spot welded you have to drill the welds out to remove it from the car. Unfotunately that leaves the inside upper mounting edge looking like swiss cheese. The guy who mounted mine on the car put small rosette / spot welds over the holes and then ground them down.
