Post Can I buy a "new" seat from Porsche or dealer?

I am curious if I can buy a new seat from a dealer? I have blue 993 style seats, that are all in good condition, but I would like to upgrade my driver only seat to a sport seat. The seat I currently have is four way power, I wonder if I can order a sport seat with 8 way power, or a heated seat option, can an 8way power seat be a plug and play addition? How much do you think it would cost? TIA

www.carnewal.com has several different options, I don't know which would fit.

Damian, thanks. I have a question, there are two different types of 993 sport seats it seems, I am interested in the type that came with the 968, not the newer actual 993 seats with the funky sides and hard back? Any ideas? Thanks.

I would assume that a GT3 seat would fit into a 944. I just installed a Corbeau Forza in my '88. If the mountings will line up, everyting should be OK.

didnt someone post the rails on the boxster seats are different, and he had to make a lot of modifications to get the rails to fit? check the archives.

have you thought about putting a recaro or other seat in the car, and having it upholstered to match the other seat?

there is a shop "automat" here in ny that can upholster a recaro to match.

You are wrong 996 and Boxster seats will NOT fit the 944 or 968. The seat is A. To tall at least 2 1/2 inches higher then the stock seats. you feel like you are sitting on a phone book. and B. the rails DO NOT match up with the holes on the floor. So don't waste your time... Any 993 seat will bolt right in the wiring harness is the same too.

Only seats up to 993 will go in. The holes are perfect matches. I had a set of 993 sport seats with the hard back and they fit right in. I sold them to my mechanic and went with the Konig sport seats I Have now. They are much lighter and are the same exact sport seat used by RUF. Do a search for Konig sport seats or go to the RUF website and check out these trick *** seats. Very light.

Edit: Sorry Sandoval, I should have read your post first. Kudos to you for giving the correct info.

Also, Sandoval. I'm FXMaster from the 968.net boards. I've been hounding you about the supercharger Anyway everyone. I was FXMaster here to but I was away for a while and my loggin did not work anymore. So now I'm "Lumbergs Lacky" heh heh

Nah, I was not banned. I rebuilt my PC and then it blew up. Then I got laid off from my job and I have been non stop job hunting. So now I still have no job but I'm still hunting. I kinda like my new profile though. A change, ya know?

This is odd, I can't read any posts after mine from the other day. I had to go into the 'printer friendly' feature to read the follow ups. Anyway, Kevin, the 993 had regular sport seats, like the ones you could've gotten on a 968, and they also offered the hard shell back sports seats. I'd love to have either type. Cargraphic sells the Recaro sport seats, around $1400-1500 in leather. They have the GT3 seats as well-go to their site and have them send a catalog.

Damian, clear your "cookies", I had the same problem on both computers in the last week and that solved it.
