On my 951 Ive got the standard Phone Dials with the silver crest centers.
1. What is the function of the 2 offset holes in the center?
2. Id like to add a colored crest to my centers. Is there a Porsche crest you can add to the existing center or do I need to replace the centers altogether?
Know of anyplace that sells these?

The holes are for a puller to remove them.
For painted center caps, you can either paint yours (my son did mine they look good) or you can buy painted center caps, but they are rather pricey.
But there are no stick ons for this.

I hand painted mine this summer and they turned out real nice. It makes a surprising difference for such a small item.
I have polished rims with the same style of centre caps. I made up a puller from a piece of coat hanger formed in a U shape with a 1/2 inch 90 degree bend at each end. Just feed the ends through the holes and pull them off. Makes it real easy to remove the caps.
I did a base coat of flat white and then painted the caps with model paint. I think it took all of about 3 hours from start to finish.

My center caps actually have metal crests with studs that go THROUGH the puller holes, with nuts on the back! I don't know where you get these (I got them along with my wheels from a RennLister), but they sure are slick.
