Anyone crashed a 944 before?

When I was test driving my 87 951, I took it from the lot, went about three blocks, and got a little stupid in a culdesac, and put it sideways on a 12" concrete curb. Broke the rear trailing arm, both wheels on that side.
THats what I call a test drive drive. Brings to mind a great quote from the movie "Used cars"...after driving the hotrod chevy and giving the old man a heart attack...the driver says..." I don't know old man...I'm gonna have to think about it".
Take Care!

I spun mine at 130mph, hit a retaining wall backwards. I went airborne for about 200yrds after impact and slid about the width of 4 lanes onto the other side of the road. It was my dumb drunk *** fault, but I was standing next to the car when the cop caught up to me. I asked if he clocked my actual speed(remember I was drunk), he said "Boy, you were F*&&%$ng Flyin' you're in enough trouble, you don't need to know". I glanced to check my speed before the up comming corner, it was a needle width above 130. My stupid *** let out, Immediately the rear swapped with the front, the rear hit first at about a 45 degree angle to the wall and sent the front into the wall as well. Came off it in the air and did a 180 before landing and skidding a U-turn. No glass broken, not even the mirror, the sunroof was found the next day on the highway. It blew out from impact.

I quit drinking all together, no I don't drive yet. It's been 3 yrs now, hopefully the end of july. I drop all offenses, no points, cheaper on the insurance. I still gotta get my 1100 bucks together to take care of my expences to get my license back. I think I learned a little.

I don't have a picture, but my father was involved in a offset head on collision with full size chevy truck in the 924S in 96. Happend at regular driving speeds (est 40-50). Driver's side crumpled a bit and bent the frame. The door almost closes. My dad was fine, Not a scratch on him.
Unfortuantly the frame of the 44k mile 924S was bent. We kept the car and salvage the engine, transmission and and whole host of other parts for my race car, my 944 Turbo and my father's 944 Turbo. Great car.

From: Central Illinois. Cornfields a plenty.
I didnt mean any disrespect at all Sami- I just thought if anyone could vouch for the integrity of this vehicle in an accident- you would be the one.
Best of luck on the current ride- and hopefully no more ill will can befall you!
You have the odds on your side now.
