Thanks Dave.

I don't think I'm going to make them with that black stuff integrated like that.

#1, I have no idea where to get that black stuff made/cut.

#2, I like the brushed aluminum look, although those look sweet. I think if we can get a all brushed aluminum with some sort of text to distinguish models, that will be awesome.

Thanks again. I like those on your car man.

Can you etch the text out of the surface then pour some sort of long lasting paint in there?

The black looks good on mine since I have a black car. However on other colors, especially ones without black interiors or something, they wouldn't look as sharp I think. The ones on the 993 are different though. I'll go snap a picture of those real quick and post it.

Here's the factory ones on dad's 993TT. It's not a 944 but you get the basic idea..I think these are more along the lines of what you're looking to make. The words are kind of etched into the aluminum and they look really nice.

These were the ones I picked up on ebay for $65...I thought it was pretty good deal, fit is good (though I'm a moron and got the fit off by a hair with the double sided tape) and the finish is nice. Plus it's all aluminum, and the crest doesn't stick up as much as I thought it would.
Sorry for the crap quality, it was sunny and had just rained, so it looks a bit off...I'll try to get a better one soon.

Jason,

Thanks, that's what I was thinking mine will look like.

Dave, that etching is awesome. I wish I could do that. I'm going to look around online for some etching services, or maybe here in town.

Thanks guys,
Matt

UDPride,

Don't go too far. If you are talking about the ones Dave posted that have the "turbo" script, I may be able to do that. I need to check with a few places in town... but that's not out of the question quite yet. Even if I can't get the etching done, there are other ways.

matt while you are at it, make those stainless guards that go in place of the black plastic like the ones in the above pic! (just an idea, a few have looked for these to no avail...you would prob have your own market!)

Sam, I would if I could figure out how to bend the aluminum in that way! That would be prett sweet. That is something I need to learn how to do...

For now though, the ones thare a closer to the actual door, the door sills not the panel that replaces the rubber lining are the ones I'm making. Thanks fellas.
