Looks nice Chad.

You can get that stuff of the doors with a "pinstripe remover" wheel. Giant rubber eraser on a drill. Works great. Goo-gone and 3M aheasive remover won't touch that stuff.

You bet. Here's how you do it.

Parts needed:

20-30 Porsche 996 plastic gromets (about $.39 each)
Carbon fiber or metal sheeting (1mm to 1.5mm in thickness)

Items to keep:

Pull latches and frames
Various screws

Part 1 - There are two parts to the door's cover. The upper part (to keep) and the lower part. The two parts are made up of ONLY the vinyl skin that covers the card/fiber board material. Remove all items such as, the arm rest, the speakers, etc. Gently pull off the lower portion of the vinyl. DO SO SLOWLY...take your time. You want to keep the lower part later for a template.

Upon completion, the panel should look like this:

Part 2 - Leaving 1 inch below the score line (upper vinyl part) cut off the lower portion of the fiber board. The 1 inch lip remaining will work with the new covers you will make. Next take a panel material of your choice (I will end up doing 1.5mm Carbon fiber sheeting) and carefully measure out the panel. Cut to size. Upon completion, measure out the grommet holes and using the 996 grommets attach to the door. To reduce the chance for vibration noise, use felt or the existing plastic barrier material. NOTE - when applying the lower panel, the top should cover the 1 inch lip cleanly.

Here's a detail of the final:

Hey Chad, broke the wheels down but didn't have a chance to check them. Taking the rears to Americas Best on Saturday. If they are straight I will let you know. Forgot to send you the part number for the 3M psa remover wheel, will send tomorrow when I am in the office.
