Converting to manual window winders
Has anyone run across any instructions/write-ups about how to install the window winding mechanisms? I have power windows currently, which I'm converting to manual winders (I have the parts already). Haynes says get someone else to do it, and there's nothing that I can see on Clarke's.
Anyone done this before?

It should just consist of putting a hole in the vinyl where the hole is in the door panel board, then just bolt it right up where the old one was.
My guess:
Roll the window down
unplug the power window motor
Unbolt the regulator from the door shell
Slide the regulator off the guide rails on the bottom of the glass
Lift the glass out the top
Remove old regulator
Put in new regulator (don't bolt yet)
Place glass back in the door and put it back on the tracks
Bolt the new regulator into place
Put the whole door panel back on then install the winder handle.
I don't know if that would be it for sure but that would be my expectations.
You may also have to remove the black metal guide rail and the power locks. (This is likely, but I don't have a power locking system, so I don't know for sure).
I don't see how it could be difficult. Only tricky thing is trying to get that old power regulator out of the door shell.
Again you'll need to cut the vinyl in the door panel where the round hole is in the back. You'll know it when you see it.
I've replaced auto regulators before but never put in a manual one.
