Can anyone tell me where the temp sensor for the dash gauge is?

I can try, the 944T has two water temp sensors, one for the gauge and one for the DME. Both are located under the head and are next to number one cyclinder. You have a N/A but it should be the same.

Borrowing a picture from Redeye, the two sensors can be seen going into the water jacket in number one. The gauge sensor is between number one and two.

I have an '87 n/a. On my car, it is on the top of the engine, toward the front. It has two male spade connectors on the part. There are two female spade connectors coming out of the wiring harness. They are not wrapped or insulated in any way. Just sitting there in the open air. You should be able to see or get at it just under the air intake.

For clarity---there are indeed two sensors. But you asked about the one for the gauge. That is the one I was indicating. The other is a feedback to the computer and has a modular connector that (if I remember right) has a blue collar.

By the way, did you find it and did it solve your problem??
