I was looking through Excellence the other day and noticed a small ad in the back for I believe "Asher Racing" mounts for 944/968's. I could be wrong on the name, I don't have the magazine near me. I don't think they have a website or anything because the ad gave Pelican's site and two others I believe where you can buy their stuff. It looks like it might be a good compromise between stock and a solid trans. mount? They also make motor mounts. Here is the picture from Pelican's site:

Are they solid or is that rubber actually part of the mount? Any increase in vibration? at idle? higher rpm? They look VERY appealing, but they are more than i get a st of factory mounts for i just want to make sure they arent going to be horrible vibration wise...
Thanks,
Mark

The engine mounts are the same, they come with high-density rubber disks. You can run with two disks per side for stock engine height, one disk for a lowered engine CG, or remove the disks completely and run solid.
I do not have them but have spoken to others who have and they like them a lot. They are on my (extended) wish list.

I would give them a call, it seems that the last few auctions on ebay this month didn't sell. Maybe you could negotiate a price for a group-buy.

They don't make many, they seem to do a batch now and then and sell them on ebay. If you search the completed items using their username on eBay you will find their old auctions. They are semi-solid, there is rubber in there but it is very high density and holds the transmission in place better than stock without causing too much extra noise in the cabin.
