I'm on Potenza Pole Positions too now, and I love them. They're great on the track and street. I don't expect that they'd last 20k miles though. I had Michelin Pilot Sports too, fantastic tires, but so expensive, I couldn't afford to replace them with another set. If you're not tracking, Bridgestone RE92's are good at a reasonable price, last 20-30k, and handle well.
Not to hijack this thread, but what kind of ride do you Bridgestone owners get?
I have Potenza Pole Position RE960AS. I liked them for the first day or so, now I'm getting a very harsh ride; almost like I don't have any suspension at all. Great in the twisties, rain and snow, but I swear they damaged my DME from the ride stiffness, and caused me to need a root canal! Had great reviews on Tire Rack, but I can't wait to replace them.

Harsh ride is exactly what I'm getting from my Bridgestones, which is the main reason I'm changing. They just pound the pavement.

Yokohama avs es100s are the best. I still get good traction in the wet, even in wet snow they do all right. Rated for 150 mph and they dont wear too fast. very quiet and adhesive tires. about 100 bucks apiece, but well worth it.

I have a set of 215/50/15 on my car, kind of wishing I went for the 225 but I'm hoping to get some dedicated track wheels soon anyway.

I like them a lot, very grippy wet and dry but seem to not give much warning before breaking loose...

I'm running the Hankook Ventus R2s and am quite happy with them. They're grippy and predictable in dry and wet conditions. I haven't used them on the track, so no comment there.

You're kidding, right? I had them on my '87 and thought they were, by far, the absolutely the worst tire I have ever owned - it didn't matter what the conditions, no traction, EVER. Loud too. They were worse than the Sumitomo HTRZs I had on another vehicle. The only redeeming quality of these tires is the cost.

Yes - I have a set that I expect to get one more summer's worth of use from. Bought 225/50R15s for $61 each from my Michelin/BFG rep and have really gotten my money's worth!

Three track days (two at Nelson Ledges (944Fest) and one at Waterford Hills), a few autocrosses and even laid-out a RallyCross course using them - plus 4 years of spring through fall daily-driving. Great tire for the money.

Previous tire was the Bridgestone Pole Position S-03. Great tire but wore out quickly and cost was much higher than the BFGs.

Have tested cars on Goodyear F1, Michelin Pilot Sport, BFG KDW and a few others. All are good tires - but the g-Force Sport is the best tire for the money that I have come across. Would also consider the Hankook Z212 as a good cost/performance choice (put a set on my girlfriend's Subaru RS 2.5). Even though I am a Nokian and Hankook dealer - I can still get the BFGs for less than the Hankooks. Go figure...

Man, I can't believe more guys aren't running sumitomo HTRZIII's. What a great tire for very little money. I wouldn't put a yokohama on over them. We have been running them street and DE's, on 944's, 993's, 996's...everyone has loved them so far. I have run about every tire out there it seems, and for the money they are very hard to beat. Plus they are not a directional tire, so you can flip them side to side.

Yeah, they're pretty quiet. By that I meant that you won't hear much squeal before the rear comes out a little. But this is at great speed around corners, and if you have any driving experience it's not a big deal to get out of.

How can you say that. I have used my yokos for 3 years. They have shown almost no wear, they are quiet as can be and they dont squeak and They can maintain my excessive speed limit breaking without blowing out. Their tread pattern is very attractive, they are affordable, However none of this is pertinent seeing as yokos dont fit the OP's car.
