Post Formerly known as formerly known as Ribs you have the coolest roads...

Ribs (and everyone),
I'm in Maryland right now and man you have got the coolest back roads up here. You all have got to get out this way to check these things out. 301 - Route 6, among many others down in south MD. Unfortunately I'm not here via the '44, just the Expo towing the camper RV that my dad got during his pre-mid-life (hoping the mid life is a 968), so taking the Expodition on back roads isn't exactly intoxicating...

Anyhow, you all have to come out to MD or something. Plus, you've got the coolest license plate - it looks like it's got a Porsche crest on it.

Anyway, go back to working on your car cause I know that's what you're doing. You're the only crazy man I know that works on his car at these crazy hours of the night.

I agree on the backroads thing, by far I think that New England in has the most fun twisties around. Any Vermonters on the board? There is nothing like a short crest on a sharp turn that makes your heart pump like a SOB!!! <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

Matt,

No working on the car tonight...just a bit of drinking the sauce. There are a lot of nice back roads all over maryland. Southern maryland (St. Mary's county especially) has a lot of desolate long windy unpoliced streches that are worthy of a sports car. In my hometown (crofton, near annapolis) there are a bunch of great roads, too. One of my favorites is chesterfield road in crownsville...it has a jump, and there is a nudist colony off of it. A few of the rennlisters are from the area...450 is a great road at night with no traffic...I made it from staple's corner to the annapolis mall in 5 minutes and change once...thats almost an 8 mile drive. Anything off of 424 or 450 in the area is good, too.

I have just recently (as of last night, since I can now see at night) started exploring the backroads around salisbury...there are some crazy ones around here, too. I took the all-trac on a couple of dirt roads carlos sainz style a couple of weeks ago (during the day)...I had my passenger constantly gripping the "oh ****" handle. I never dipped below 35, and most of the time was between 60 and 80 on dirt...AWD is the ****, and AWD 4 wheel drifts around sharp corners is an experience that everybody should have at least once.

Anyways...enough of my drunk rambling. I think I am tired enough to go to bed. Peace.

Can't speak for southern MD, but up here (North and West of 'Bawlmer'), we have some sweet roads as well. *But*, well patrolled by the boys in their Crown Vic's (many of whom carry 'tude as well as their .40 S&W's). So a word to the wise, keep the gain turned up on that detector and the eyes wide open.

Hey, somebody has to make up for that billion dollar surplus that evaporated under the reign of our now lame duck governor, Parris (what kind of name is that anyway ?) Spend-denning !
