Post 968 turbo S pics

Sending some pictures of a Swedish 968 turbo S (replica). It`s based on a 968 CS m030 and has all the right parts and some extra. If you click on the turbo pic. You will see some specs. Iīm afraid itīs in Swedish but it has 3.0L block, Autronic stand alone system, ported head, special cam, full ball bearing gt30 turbo, and so on.

Is it fast? Oh yes

All the best
Lark.

My guess is that one is a wastegate muffler and the other (larger one) is the actual exhaust

Yup, they did that same design on the Ferrari F40.

Lark, that's an AWESOME 944/951/968 image gallery you've got there! Probably the best/most diverse I've seen. Great stuff.

Why is it that all these fabulous turbo's are always 8V? Is it that the 16V aren't able to withstand the horsepower?

It is because the factory 968 Turbo S was 8V, so that is how a lot of people go. Their are tuners who can build 16V turbos (PowerHaus, John Anderson, Etc). Also, I *THINK* you can bolt together an 8V turbo, where as you need to fabricate a 16V one. (986 block + 2.7L 944 head + 951 stuff = 968 Turbo).

You are right, the smaller pipe is from the wastegate. Itīs Tigwelded 3" and 2" stainless steel. The car is dismounted for a paintjob wasnīt bad before but not perfect. If you click on "Bilder" photos in Swedish you can see the other members cars.
The 968 Turbo S is my cousins, here is some photos of my car outside his garage.
Itīs a 968CS -93 M030, Bilstein cup, GT3 brakes,Diff 40%.

Best regards
Lark

I don't know, if this help's or not, but gamla means old, so I'm guessing, that in some point they replaced to a newer.

If you look on the first photo on the second page you will see the new one. Itīs the same intercooler with a rewelded intakeside, not so narrow.
