Default New tool in the toolbox is a welder

Decided to pick up a MIG welder a couple of weeks ago and start tackling my exhaust vibrations. Found several cracks.

I love a new toy.

Also useful for removing those broken fasteners. Just weld on a stud or a nut.. no problem .

Im a USCG certified marine arc welder, and probably one of the few that uses an arc welder for automotive applications.. have not had much chance to MIG weld.

Its a great tool and skill to have! I am also USCG certified in Arc, mig, and tigm for all steel, stainless and aluminum.

Congrats !!!

You can pick up a decent little flux-core mig machine for around 250-300, "Clark" makes a small welder like this that I've heard is very nice for the money.

nice...I have some experience TIG welding, and its a great tool. Very useful, and in my opinion at least, a lot of fun

someday when I get a house w/ a garage I'd like to get a MIG welder and a couple other fabrication tools to do some custom stuff
