Coolest thing I ever saw was this blue/silver Neon with an enormous dual centered exhaust, biggass rims with the brake drums painted blue. I absolutely love seeing riced out cars with drums. "Whoa, are those like full surround discs? I don't even see those on race cars!"

Guys, I have to agree with him. You all came on a bit strong. It would deftinatly turn me away from this site if I asked the question (I would never ask such a question though). Give him a break, not everyones tastes are the same. Its his car and he can do to it as he pleases. I'm sorry if this young kid never comes back to rennlist.

Gee, if your _original_ post had made it clear that you "never really even entertained the idea" of putting them on, you _might_ have gotten less razzing... If you'd checked the archives at all, you'd have had a pretty good idea of what reaction to expect in this "elitist" community...(still having trouble wrapping my mind around the concept of us waterboys as 'elitists'... the mind absolutely boggles!)
But then after a fairly mild round of said razzing, you're calling folks who responded "********"... on your third post here. Wow. Excellent people skills. Hopefully you won't be needing any real help from the board anytime soon.... "Yeah, JB, that timing belt needs to be plenty loose! It'll shrink as it warms up." "New thermostat? Shouldn't take you more'n about ten minutes. Nope, no special tools." "Best parts prices? Why, Performance Products, for everything!"
Jim, looking for the clue-stick.... or the loon mallet...

hey, I apologize if I hurt your feelings, I was just teasing.
I think you can do what you like with YOUR car. I personally dont care for the Altezza lights on a Porsche, it just seems kind of sacreligious to me.
I really didnt mean to insult you, and I never said you were the problem, just the lights.

Here is the car for you, please sell your Porsche.

I would have to shoot out the tires of a 944 with this **** on it, and drag the driver to Germany for Ferdi's ghost to **** on.

I am not going to try to argue that point, being aware of Honda's F1 history. 1800HP out of a 1.8L engine at 76lbs of boost is scary as all hell.
But you cannot convince me that a modern Honda Civic Si, designed primarilyaround the idea of being a value leader is ever going to be the equal of a car like a 944. They simply are apples and oranges.
The 944 was also designed to be a value leader type-car, but it is also a Porsche. From a company that until just recently built only sports cars. It has a body structure designed to be thrown through corners, suspension to match.
Yes, the Honda can take some boost. But there is no way a smaller displacement engine, running less boost, with front wheel drive, and a tranny designed for 130HP, is ever going to be a 944/951. If we are talking 951, then its like talking apples to basketballs. Sure they are both roundish, but only one will win you a championship. (hehe, finals have kicked ***, no?)
I have seen some pretty sweet rice, and some **** that should have been crushed long ago. Too many fart cans, too mang barn doors, too many lamers with no clue. But hopefully, they wont kill anyone or themselves before the clue-by-four finally hits them.
I leave you with a picture of what tastefully done rice is...
(I would hurt puppies and nuns for this car)

Dudes, Relax, It's a kit. Fibreglass body and VW mechanicals, they've been around since the 70's. I don't recall the name of the manufacturer, but they also make a very realistic 356 reproduction, suposedly thier 356 kit is the best of several on the market. No puppy or nun injuries required.

Sorry about the rude introduction, this is after all a Porsche web board and even the hint of "rice" is quickly scolded as you can see. Don't leave it up to us to be politically correct at any point in time. Actually the first thing that should have been said to you is "welcome". If it wasn't then let me be the first. Now pay John D. and become a card carrying member because it will save you a bundle of money and time, who knows maybe you will meet some cool people here. I surmise that if you pay attention you will also learn something about the 924/931/944/951/968 on this board every day, I definitely do.
this entire thread should be swept under the carpet <img src="graemlins/icon501.gif" border="0" alt="[icon501]" />

I know its a kit, but its still "hella bling". If I had the $25k to drop on a toy like that, I would trip sprinting to buy it.
I would not kick it out of my garage for the sin of being a kit.
A widebody 356 speedster, with Stunna orange paint. How much fun do you need to have this weekend? You could go anywhere in that car and be assured of a good time.
I would like this one too...
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1832782398" target="_blank">sweet 356 lovin all nite long mama</a>
Its a keeper IMHO. what an awesome car to putt around in on a lazy Sunday.

Naw Mike, I flamed the civic in the E-bay ad, as for altezza's well to each his own. How's the teardown of that 944 tub going?
FYI - mike has more 944 parts than the law should allow, email him for part requests.
