It would be nice if 944online didn't have the monopoly on the square nuts for the hatch pins. $12 for one nut. Please.

I was going to just cut some stock into 2 little squares, then drill/tap them.

I was wondering about that - rennbay started carrying them shortly after he started making them.

Just about to replace my hatch pins, does anyone know the size of the triple square tool required to remove the hatch pin surrounding piece?

What's amusing is I installed these on my '85 back in 2008 the day before it was in an accident and totaled.

The pins swapped just fine into my S2, however. I replaced the triple square pieces of crap with some standard screws from Home Depot/Lowes.

Thought I had posted what screws were needed but cannot find it currently.

I have a driver's side hatch leak and that side sticks when opening. Would a new hatch pin solve this problem or do you need to replace all the hardware?

^ 10 mm is too big. I tried my 8mm one and it was too big. Maybe 6mm?
