lol, sorry man, but that is funny stuff.

i can just see myself messing my pants as i connect my battery back up! then a chain reaction of blind rage is soon to follow with me hitting my head on the hood, getting pissed that i may have dented the aforementioned hood (even though my noggin could be bleeding profusely), blood from now open head wound tarnishing clean silver paint beacuse i was too busy making sure there were no imperfections on the car, the entire time belching profanities that would make a sailor blush.

damn porsche(s)...

thanks for the warning!!!

Jason, that is funny as hell. That is exactly what I would do, which is why it takes so long for me to work on my car, what with all the tantrums. Maybe I should up my dosage

I'll try to keep this story short. I drove down to Atlanta to visit some friends a few years ago and my pal George and I decided to change the timing belt on my Scirocco one afternoon while I was there (I was due after all). For some safety conscious reason we decided to disconnect the ground on the battery. Well, we get everything back together and connect the battery and the car alarm start going off. Since I never used the stupid thing (PO put it in) I hadn't brought the key fob with me, so I couldn't turn it off. Well, it was also an immobilizer, so I couldn't drive either. We unplugged the horn just to make it quite. Fortunately the PO had done a shyte job installing it, so we were able to just unplug the immobilizer and be on our way.

it's sad, but true. when you worry more about the imperfections of your car than those of your own well-being, there tends to be a problem!!

manning, what part of akron are you from? i grew up in the suburbs of cleveland and still have a few friends in the akron area. plus, my brother is now a freshman at kent, not too far from you!

later!

Hey Jason,

Actually I only moved to Akron just over a year ago. Before that I lived in Peninsula and before that Cleveland Heights. Originally I'm from North Palm Beach, Florida with several years of Georgia thrown in for good measure.

But to answer your question, I live over on the west side toward Fairlawn. I'm about a mile from Stan Hywet hall and a couple blocks from Our Lady of the Elms.
