Default Some help with missfiring?

I have a beautiful 1987 944 about as old as me.
Ever since I got the girl she has had a love hate relationship with me. Start one day, not the next. Always a hassle...

Here is my question. I got her running at night and noticed that the distributor wires were sparking
They are pretty worn out and dont think they have ever been replaced?

What does that mean?
Could this be the reason for the starting problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Do you mean the wires between the distributor and spark plugs? If those are grounding out onto the engine block and other surrounding things (mine used to do this) then that is power that isn't getting to your spark plugs. Definitely worth replacing. It probably isn't your only problem but it's a start.

Do a full tune up (distributor car & rotor, spark plugs, ignition wires, air, oil, fuel filter)
