Cool New Red/Black Recoloured Interiour PICS

How do you like my new ineriour.

I recolor'ed my interior from Light/dark brown to red/black. Made a new shift boot. changed the carpets to all black from wery dirty light brown. Put in a Sparco steering whell. Removed the silver color on the instruments clusters and heater controls.

Made panels for some 5" Helix speakers 2 way system, see the small tweeter on top part of door panel, next to the windows switch.

Seat are Leather on top, vinyl on the rest, original 84'

The car look almost like a new car inside

Congrats, Zen!! Very, very nicely done, I couldn't have done any better myself. I think the color change was the perfect idea!

That used to be BROWN? Wow! It's a little over the top for my taste- but what a improvement over brown! Nice Job! Gives me a few ideas though..

Thanks!

If you look closely, you see the ash-tray, side-air-vent's, and wiper/light control arms are still brown. Litte project for next holiday, besides whell bearing, and clutch.

First i wanted all black. But the two color brown on the door panels inspired me to to two color on the rest.

Hoped to inspire some D:I:Y people out there. <img border="0" alt="[byebye]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" />

Well now you are going to have to tell us how you did that. Vinyl Dye on the doors? How about the seats? Looks well done. I considered the same for my car since I have the tan interior now. Ive since decided to go all black with a light colored wood trim kit when money is available. But now you have me thinking again lol.

Folia tec (german company) makes a product called "Interior ColorSpray", thats a Vinyl color, that i used on all the vinyl stuff like dash, panels, seats a.s.o. The leather part off the seat was clened with the same cleaning foam used for the vinyl parts, and colored with some leather color (not dye) similar to the original color used as top coat on the original skin. Then i soaked it in Leather oil for a week, topping up on dry spots every day. Last i wiped off any excess oil with a rag.

Actually the speaker consoles is also covered with real leater (red). The trick to get writ of the wrinkles in the cornors is to heat wit a heat gun, and pry it. The heat makes it srink.

The shift boot is Two color leather, as i thougt the red color would be dirty to fast if fitted where you hand touched all the time you shift the gears. Also heat schrinked to fit tight on the lever.
