Here are a couple of aftermarket items found on a crawl of fleebay. Look like cheap knock-offs to me, dangerous? any comments?

Pair big red calipers $488.95

Front coilovers, camber plates & springs $699.99

Looks like a copy of the 928S4 / 951S caliper. Radial mount. Not quite a big red, but it is red.

The big red calipers are the same ones used by reputable companies like "Stoptech" there fine. I have all 3 (The real deal, The fakes, Stoptechs) and the Stoptechs and Fakes are identical brake calipers.

If you're a cheap bastard like me, you have to know where you can cut corners and where you can't/shouldn't. Brakes and suspension parts definitely fall into the shouldn't category. If you aren't sure who made them or where they came from, I wouldn't trust them on my car.

It's sad when brake pads cost half the price of the calipers...

I recently bought those camber plates (just the camber plates, not the full coilover setup) and they are complete junk.

The spherical bearing in the center on BOTH sides did not move AT ALL! Not even when they were installed on the car and had been used for a couple days.
Plus, when I installed them on my car it raised the car up about 2 or 3 inches. When I lowered the car back down with my coilovers, the bilstein shocks were bottoming out.

So, total waste of time. DO NOT buy those. Right now I am in a dispute with them trying to get a full refund.

Just to be fair, I should add that I bought the camber plates too. I didn't have a problem. The seller was responsive when I had a question on installation. I'm surprised, though, that they wouldn't refund drift-a-944 when he protested.

I purchased the plates after reading a decent review from someone here. I have Bilstein escort cups, so that may explain the different experience (at least as to ride height).
