Not looking good dude. You do recall you jinxed me about ten days ago.

Just (literally 5 minutes ago) got back from Montreal. Ya'll knew about the snapped pivot bolt and adjuster on the power steering.

And The heater core (currently bypassed).

Well the 500+ miles to mOntreal and back and the crappy Quebec roads has also taken it's toll.

Shocks are completely gone, finee. Man they go out fast when they go. Wheel bearing that needs to be replaced sooner than later. and while trying to get out of the crappy parking at the hotel I was staying at I jammed the back bumper enough to buckle the plastic facia.

And I'm 300 miles past a retension on the belts.

So suffice to say I have some work to complete before I can make a drive like that.

I didnt jinx you Sid-- you didnt check the grounds!!

Man that stinks- I was hoping your trip went by uneventfully.. I know all about it buddy- But, in the 3 weeks my car has been idle waiting on my diagnosis, gathering parts for the fuel rail and fuel line replacement....
(The longest period she has sat in tnice weather with the sunroof on since I've owned it!) I've redone all my grounds, fixed the ODO gear, fixed the gas guage and connections, found out about the "Taillight Lake"- Left Taillight had 2" of water in it..no wonder it wasnt as bright. Like me...
Put new capplugs in all the inspection holes, retorqued a variety of bolts, touched up paint, Now I'm about to wetsand, polish buff, and wax the old girl. (NO- Not Patti!! I hope she doesnt see THIS post!)

Next is a rear brake pads and caliper rebuild, trans flush and refill.

And I wanna get that done by 944 fest.. LOL!

Harry- Sounds great! I saw the other posts, glad you will be there- I'm doing tensioning belts and rollers on the 944 next weekend, as well as re-prepping it for paint. I'm not too worried if its not road worthy for a while- while the paint cures I'm reconditioning and restitching the leather interior..and pulling carpets..

I won't stand going to another P-car function in a Buick!

Chris, i wouldnt worry about wet sanding (except to maybe smooth out the touch ups). this is what you do to get it to look 'the business'! go to your local auto paint supplier, and definitely invest in 3m rubbing compound, 3m glaze, and a buffer if you dont already have one. after you rub, then glaze, then polish.. then wax with your fav carnuba (zymol is my fav), your girl will be as brilliant and shiny as ever!

You did to you bastard.

We'll see what happens, If I can get some of my exspenses back I'll have the money to do it or get it done (probably the latter as I have 0 time)

BTW, wheres the pictures of your new 944? And which one did you get, the one you were looking at?

Sid- I'm toying with the idea of getting Michelle's parts car- there's really not much left- All I really want is the calipers, spindles and some susp parts and a few interior parts- How about some used shocks free for dismantling- You'd probably have to come out here for a weekend tho.. I have NO IDEA what condition they are in. I'll look in the next few days when I get back up there if you would like..

Chris. Thanks for the offer. But I'd rather go for new. Used shocks are like putting on used brake pads. Not worth the time.

I'll keep you posted.
