Welcome to the club! You will find that we're way, way cooler than a cult, but just as brainwashed 8-)
My P car has the same thing as yours (re: different VIN # is another location). I was told not to worry about it, as the car does have a clean title and all. Seems that VIN was an internal thing-a-majig with Porsche (crazy Europeans).
Again, welcome.

I've bookmarked it, and it does help a lot, but ours is an 1984, so there are a few differences.
It's nice to feel so welcome!

Welcome to the list. I am in Beaumont as well! I am on the west end, and work down town. Where are you guys? If we can get together sometime, I can maybe help you with the a/c.

Welcome, and nice to have you on board. Now I'm not the newest anymore!
I'll have to say that these are a great bunch of people, who will go out of their way to make your new Porsche ownership as painless and rewarding as possible.

Welcome. This is the best place to find out "what in the world were they thinking" when they made our cars.....I have found it to be the best $ spent on the car,,,join Rennlist.
Doing a search on any thing that comes up will always show that someone else has been down that road before or at least provide some very intertaining reading while I sort out my problem.
I have the manual for an 84. I could scan a couple of pages for you and send them via email. Is it the A/C operation you need?.
Also ebay can be a decent source of some stuff. Just be careful, know what you're getting and what it should cost. I use a couple of recyclers (aka junkyards) here in Houston. Lone Star on Harwin and BH on Airline. Parts Heaven in San Francisco, 20th St in Arizona are also pretty good.
Once again welcome to the gang, can't wait to see your car. How/where did you get it ?...etc.
