NE dyno day, more info
I talked to Deman today (he called me).
$100 for 2 runs or more if you need it for tuning purposes.
The dyno is brand spanking new (a couple months old) and is a "dynotech" I believe. It bolts up directly to the hubs (wheels come off and the dyno bolts up in place of that). No tire spin/no spin up/down time as with a drum...no need to strap the car down. I think because of the dyno or because of what they want...it's Porsches only. Sorry yarin (teklord).
They can measure a/f curve, hp, torque...the usuals...as well as boost.
They are located in Nyack, NY. Right by the Pallisades center pretty much. They're a Porsche place...they have a 800hp race car...they know their stuff and they dont diss us 944 owners.
<a href="http://www.demanmotorsport.com/" target="_blank">http://www.demanmotorsport.com/</a>
The other choice is Pruven performance.
They want $65/3 runs + $15 ($80) if you want a a/f curve. You can only get an a/f curve for the last 2 runs because they want all the condensation out of the exhaust before they stick the precious wide band O2 sensor in the exhaust.
They're in Milford, Ct. 06460...no idea where that is.
<a href="http://www.pruvenperformance.com/" target="_blank">http://www.pruvenperformance.com/</a>
Last choice is Adrenalin Motorsport.
I haven't talked ot them yet...so not much info there...They're in Auburn, MA 01501.
<a href="http://www.adrenalinmotorsport.com/" target="_blank">http://www.adrenalinmotorsport.com/</a>
So far I'm leaning strongly towards Deman, but we'll have to wait until I get in touch with adrenalin motorsport. We're still open to suggestions for dyno's guys...so feel free to suggest. Wherever the most people want to go to, we go...simple as that.

A)DeMan knows Porsche
B)IIRC, wasn't Pruven $75 or $65 for over 10 cars, watch us show up with 9 So $90/$80.
C)DeMan knows Porsche
D)Nyack is alot better from NJ, and I think from LI too.

Dave,
Yep, DeMan KNOWS Porsche. He won 1st place overall at Lime Rock PCA club race last week with a 700 HP 911 that he & his team built from the ground up (I watched). Very talented driver.
He loves the water-cooled cars too. One of his favorite cars is the 968; and his first "race car" was a 951, I believe. So, all Porsches are welcome at DeMan Motorsport.

P.S. to Adrial: You'd better check to see what the maximum number of cars that can realistically be "dynoed" on a single saturday at DeMan's(say, starting at 10 a.m. and continuing through 4 p.m.). I have a feeling that with the nice weather and the convenient location, you may get a very good turn out; but, Rick may feel that, done right, they can only measure a maximum of 10 or 12 cars, maybe less (2 cars per hour?). Dunno, just a guess; but, you should check to avoid anyone making the trip and going home disappointed. You should also determine those attendees who won't mind if they can't get on the dyno that day. For example, I have the shortest trip to Nyack (10 mins), so I can always put my car on the dyno another day, no problem.
If the weather is good, we'll cook out right there. Everyone will have fun.

*bump* just keeping it up on the first page...
Should I bother calling the last dyno place on the list? What does everybody think? Stick with the Porsche place?
I'm getting kind of worried that the interest is kind of dissapating...please RESPOND here if you can make it on JUNE 8TH.
thanks,
Adrial

At this time in my life I dont see a problem with 6/8. Ten years ago the day would have been a big problem but thats another story from another lifetime.

I would prefer Pruven, but would still be willing to go to Deman as long as I DEFINATELY can get a min of 2 runs in. I need to do some tuning w/the Aquamister and A/F mixture.
I look forward to meeting up with a few other Porsche afficianados.

My944, if you need two runs or more for tuning you can have em. If you're not set up right in 2 runs, you can have more (1 or 2 more for a total of 3 or 4)...no problem, no extra charge.
You will definetely get the runs that you need in.
Once I have a list of who wants to go, how long their travel time is and what they need to do I can make a list of who goes first, second, third, etc...
The more responses the merrier...
Tom R, If both cars are Porsche's then I don't think they'll be a problem. However he did say that it's Porsche's only...I think due to the dyno but I didn't ask so I can't be sure.
So how many we got interested for 6/8 most likely at Deman unless anybody objects? So far it looks like 3 for deman, 1 for pruven.

I could make it the 9th but not the 8th. Or literally any other weekend in june except the 29th and 30th when I plan on going to Watkins Glen. June 8th is the GF's birthday and while I would love to get dyno time for my birthday, somehow I think she wouldn't be as pleased with it.
So if it works out that we can do another date, that'd be great but if not it's no biggie. Maybe we can do another dyno day for those who miss out on this one!

<img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" /> <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" /> What if I slap a Porsche badge on... i'm guessing he would probably no the difference. Or how about if I write 911 Turbo in black tape on the trunk.

Let me suggest that whoever wants to go call Deman, leave your MC/Visa number to reserve a spot, then when he's full that's it. First come first served. This will separate the guys who will bail at the last minute from the guys who really want to do this. I think this would be fair to everyone, including the dyno shop, as they will know how many people for sure will show up. Comments anyone?
PS I'll be in.

6/8 is the best for me. I'm about 75-90 minutes to DeMan and about 2.5 hours from Pruven. I'm just looking for numbers, no tuning. Lowest HP first to highest might be fun, but I'm hangin' out to watch the festivities even if I go first. As long as I'm home for dinner, the wife should be cool.
