A lot depends on what years and options we're talking - but here goes:
- the 944 handles and brakes better than the early 924's (not 924S)
- 924 shell is lighter than 944
- 924 (except Turbo and S) have 4-bolt wheels and rear drum brakes
- 924 shocks springs and sway bars are lighter/lower capacity than 944's... much less than sport equipped/optioned 944's.
- nearly everything from a 83 944 to a 95 968 will bolt onto the chassis of a 924 with minimal effort.
- 924's have lighter rear windows than 944's
There's a bunch of other stuff physically different - most is appearance... until you get to the engines.
Then, there's all the engine differences. Much to think about there. Not sure why you were asking - maybe to build a race car, street race car, daily driver?
Best bang-for-the-buck 924 is the 86-88 924S (88 is best) - for those who don't mind the slimmer body lines, this is great car.
Good Luck!
