Default 2" spacer on my 85.5, what type?

I am looking at putting some wheels from my 928 that have the late offset on my 85.5. I have been told that I will need some 2" spacers.

My question is should I just get 2" spacers that bolt on to the hub and have the studs on the spacer?, or get the spacer w/o studs and just install longer studs on the car?

What is the advantage of each?

Thanks,
Oscar

Isn't that horrible for your wheel bearings?

you'll need bolt-on spacers, don't settle for slip-on. Bolt on is only only way to go. Yes, they're more expensive, but they're a helluva lot safer.

And depending on the offset of the 928 wheels (i.e., assuming they're the same offset as '87 and later 944s), a 1" spacer is what you'll want.

Use VERTEX AUTO (site sponsor)...they make a very nice BOLT-UP unit for what you are looking.
