Default Wipers only work sometimes??

My wipers only work part of the time. One time they'll work fine, next time the won't work at all. Also they only work at one speed when they do work. Sometimes they will start working, if I have them turned on, if I hit a bump. Any ideas? Thanks

Check the relay. The contacts maybe dirty.

It is in the fuse box. I hope it helps you because it has not solved my wiper problems.

Sands,
Do you need a wiper motor?
I found one in my parts stash.

How do I clean it? Alcohol or an electric part cleaner? Something like that?

Did you find which one it is?
Look under you fuse box cover. There is diagram to show where the relays are located.

You could try sanding the contacts lightly just to remove any oxidation.

It's dark now, I'll have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to give it a try. Thanks for the help.

Just be careful. My wiper motor was similar. I thought it was in the off position. The wipers were not moving or making any sound. After about 20 minutes on the road I noticed a burning smell that would not go away and got worse. I flew home to find that the wiper motor was so hot that it had melted some plastic and charred a paper sticker of some sort. The problem was the motor was in one of the on positions...my car still smells like smoke. I got a new motor yesterday and I am putting it in tomorrow.
