Acceleration test!

Acceleration test!
I remember when we posted our 70-100 figures a few months ago... I used to do 0-60 runs to see how the car was doing after mods/etc, but the results of this or similar test will not only introduce many variables (launch technique, tires, lsd, road conditions/grip, etc.) but also be much harder on the entire drivetrain.
Anyway, so the 70-100 tests we did were done as follows: cruize @60 in 3rd, floor it and start timer @70, stop timer @100. About 8 months ago in similar weather I ran an avarage of 3.9 secs with a 200lbs passanger some gas and a little luggage. Today I did two runs and avaraged about 3.8 with the same amount of weight, I've rebuilt the engine but no other 'mods' were installed. I do believe today I have a muffler and I ran open exaust at the time.
Currently the car has a 3 inch exaust turbo back with one straight through muffler, an intake, wires/plugs and coil, a little headwork, headerwrap, unregulated boost and 993tt blow off valve as well as chips. Slight boost leak.
I'd like to see how your cars compare.

FYI, when timing laps on the side of a racetrack, I find that I am usually within a tenth (on a stopwatch with precision to the hundredths) of a second to the time recorded by the onboard data logging equipment.

Yes, I'm (well my friend) just using a regular stopwatch. I'm not claiming 1/100 of a second accuracy, but like Mr. Lavigne says I doubt the results were that far off.

The nice thing is that just about all camera mounts and cameras use the same screw (1/4-20).
So if you can find an old tripod you can hack it up and still use it. You might want to add a little duct tape or something to stabilize it.
As to where to mount. That's tougher, unless you don't mind drilling. Got a rollbar. Should give you a good view of the back of your noggin as well as out the windshield.
