Post Oil change: Does car have to be level?

When I change the oil in my S2 I usually just put the front of the car up on ramps, take the belly pan out, loosen the drain plug and empty the oil pan.

I was just told by a 911 owner that the car needs to be level at both ends for the oil to drain completely. Is this also true for 944 cars? Is this true at all?

What gives?

911s depending on the year have various oil coolers and resevoirs front and back, so maybe leveling is recommended. Our cars have a standard oil pan with the drain plug located near the back, so when the front is up on ramps, oil is naturally going to drain to the back of the pan.
