Well seeing as 944S were the only 944 series to come with a 6800 rpm redline, I guess that means that some came with mileage gauges and some didnt.

if it was a new boxster i hate to break the news it would smoke your 944s...i just bought the wife an 08 2.7 boxster and it is as quick as my 87 951(which is not quite stock) until about 70 miles an hour....i used to not have much respect for the boxsters...but as you pointed out its more the owners that dont deserve the respect...keep the shiny side up and good luck with sale...turbo next?

It was an early boxster probably a 97-99. My car runs mid 14s in the quarter, the new boxsters are good for high 13's, I know when Im outgunned. Next step is a 928.

boxster is an uncool car though so who cares.

your 944s needs paintwork and the also has high milliage so might be a bit hard to sell.

i'm not sure what people mean when they say "milliage does not matter", A high milliage engine means more likely that things such as the piston rings or rod bearing may need to be replaced in the near future and that means an engine rebuild.

Well I figured my car was worth 4K because of the powerplant, the transmission and the interior. Ive got the porsche script seats, as well as sports seats in both sides, I dont have cracks in my dash. The S head is very desirable for people looking to do swaps on their 8V NA. The S transmission is a popular switch for NA guys because it gives them better gears. I just put a new clutch in and everything is in tip top shape. When I first bought the car I replaced the head gasket because it had overheated. The previous owner got the radiator crammed with gunk and it melted it. I cleaned the radiator and took the head off. I checked all the valve guides replaced the cam tensioner and from my vantage point I could see no scoring on the piston walls and the rings looked good. Running mobil 1 from day one really works. I have records from several years back. I keep telling people this, my dad has run mobil 1 in his 928 since he bought it new in 1979. He has run it hard at the track in porsche club events and auto-x. It has 330K and it has never had the head or block dug into. These motors will go for a long time. 200K is not alot, my mom has 185K on her 2000 Audi S4. Its all in how the car is taken care of. My car may have some paint blemishes, but to me that is why Im not trying to sell it for 5K.

I think 4k is a fair price. If I was back in the states I'd probably pick this up from you. I was looking more for an 89 but for this price it'd be too good a deal to pass up.

Thanks for the bump Banana. I believe the blue I have is Copenhagen blue. At least it doesn't turn the cops head's like my old guards red 944 did.
