Think my clutch or tranny just blew up.

Definitely sounds like blown clutch to me. Many people put in rubber-centered discs as replacement. Just because the PO replaced the clutch doesn't mean he put in a spring-centered one.

Chunks of rubber in the bellhousing confirms it!

I don't have chunks (at least didn't see any.)

also when I removed the rubber cover on the trans I twisted the drive shaft it only moved a tiny bit left / right and felt tight.


this thunking used to happen like once in a while last year. yesterday driving home from university ti basicly did it all the way home.

I have a feeling it's the clutch also.


I'm still hesitant to buy a clutch before going to my mechanic next week.


if I drive the car like this for another 3-4 weeks befoer I get it done I'm scared I'll blow my transmission also if it is the clutch but I have no other choice as I have no other car right now lol.

also from what I understand you're not suppose to use a new disk with an old pressure plate.

Have the same problem as described. Did you found the problem? Was it the clutch?
