Default Anyone cutting up a car? I need a small piece...

I need one of those nuts that the seat bolts screw into. Anyone cutting up a car? I could use the whole pocket if you didn't want to cut it out of there....might be good reference for me.

Let me know!!

thanks!
Steve

I have one now that is already cut up and waiting to go to the scrapyard. Let me know what you and we can work something out.

This is what I need inside the sqaure. I really need just the nut, but could use the whole section to see what I might need to cut on my car (and to weld back together). Should fit in a small box or a large padded envelope.

Thanks Chad996 for the photo!

Is there anything special about that nut? Couldn't you just run to the parts store and grab a new nut to weld on?

I don't know.... I assume is more of a flat plate with a threaded hole than a true "nut". The one in the back is certainly flat plate...

It floats around in there to make lining up the seat easier I suppose. I have sparco race seats. I drilled out the rail in the back so I could thread in a second bolt. That was my plan B, but still want to get a replacement for the front.

I have a similar problem. I went to go put in my new driver's side seat, and the upper right circle thing the seat bolt is supposed to screw into, is gone. There is just a big hole. What can I do?

Same thing I'm planning to do (cut it open, insert new bolt and rock on) or drill all the way through the floor and put a nut on the other side. (I didn't want to drill all the way through the floor...yet.

Drill through the floor and put in a good size backing washer and nut. This is also a good time to increase the size of the bolt you are using.
