Post If I was going to paint my 951... what color would work with a burgundy interior?

Hey,

My 15 year old car is straight and true but the paint isn't a 10 by a long shot. At some point in the next year it could use a paintjob.

Truth to tell, I like the color of the car now, but I've never thought the DiamanteBleu Metallic really 'worked' with the burgundy leather. So if I'm painting, what colors would work? A true silver would be OK, I suppose, or maybe the Dusty rose...

Suggestions?

That does sound like an odd combination, I vote for Zermatt Silver.

I've thought about the same thing quite often... but opted not to chang ehte color of my paint, as I hear it really drops the value of the car... otherwise I would paint the car Lapis Blue...mmmmm

Mine is Stone Grey Metallic over Burgundy, and it works well. I also like the Zermatt Silver idea.

Stone grey metallic . But, if you are painting... I think reviera blue and burgandy would be interesting. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> (seriously)

I honestly believe that since you're going to change the color, you might as well REALLY change it. Ready...? 993 forest green. A deep green, paired with burgandy really complement each other very nicely. And I don't have an acurate picture of my Zermatt. But it is definitely a yellowish-silver.

Try to keep it close to the original color so you dont have to paint the door jambs etc.

in 1990 mazda offered the RX7 in a silver with a touch of rose. I only saw one of them once in CT for a brief moment, and it was schweeet.

Have fun and mix your own color. if it aint original it aint original, so you might as well have some fun.

If you want to keep it OEM, Graphite Metallic is pretty nice. There's only a few people on the 'List who have the Graphite/Burgundy combo (me being one, UDPride the other that I know of).
It's an amost black, deep charcoal metallic.

white, zermatt silver (hope you never have to touch it up!), or never-in-Texas Black -- it's hotter 'n' hell and only looks good for twenty minutes at a time after you wash it!
