Long distance sight unseen purchases - financial transaction - How done?

Over night them a $100 deposit to hold the car.
Have them take a picture of the title for you. Make sure their correct name and address is on the title.
Do a reverse number look up on whitepages.com to confirm they are who they say they are. Look at their feedback on eBay.
If you feel good about it from here then over night them the balance. Have them over night you the signed title.
Find a shipping company. Stay away from brokers.
Get the car and enjoy.
I have bought 3 cars like this with no problems.

I had a well reputed Rennlister who was local to the car draw up a brief bill of sale and get it signed by the seller in exchange for a small deposit he put down on my behalf.
I then wired the rest of the money to the seller, the Rennlister picked up the car and he turned it over to me when I flew in. I took him to dinner and gave him a cash gift for his help.
I'll trust a Rennlister over an average seller any day.
