ian - glad to see you're back in the game...sweet looking car btw, but then again, i'm very partial to black

terry - the wheels on ebay are actually <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1831681104" target="_blank">"futch rims"</a> ...hehe

Thanks guys for the heads up on the Fuchs. I must warn you I'm cheap +shipping on the wheels would probably kill the deal. Ian isn't far from me, and I take trips up the east coast often (planning another one sometime next month) so ribs isn't out of the way either...

Ian, I could possibly help you install the lines as you're not too far from me. I also think SS braided is a bit of an overkill, high pressure/high temp rated new hose is good enough, and much cheaper. If you send me the old fitting, I could have new hose fitted on to it for pretty cheap (I'd imagine around $15, including a matching fuel return hose), throw in some good clamps and a bit of insulation around them and you're good to go.

Tell us how those Kumhos grip once you've driven the car a bit.

Thanks for the ideas 951and944S. I'll check those out next time I start tinkering with my automobile. It smells like gas intermittently all of the time, but is a little stronger when I just fill up. Ahmet/ian...I don't know what I am going to do with the fuchs...it depends if I decide to go with a big red brake upgrade or not (the fuchs wouldn't fit after that)...if I rebuild the stock calipers and go with some decent drilled rotors I'll probably hold onto the fuchs and put some r-compound rubber on them...otherwise I'll sell them. Its up in the air at this point. They could use refinishing as the black paint on them is faded and the polished lip is a bit...well...unpolished. Other than that, AFAIK, they are perfectly straight with very little curb rash or any other defects. See if you can see what I mean:

Oh yeah...I didn't see where the hard line could be removed from the fender area, so I used the dremmel to cut the crimp off of it in the car...if the hard line was detachable, it would be a load easier to get the crimps off with the line out of the car...does anybody know about this? Ahmet...after reading horror stories of engine bay fires, I for one was willing to spend $80 on peace of mind. Its probably overkill, but even perry's fire wasn't enough to penetrate the stainless fuel lines, so I'll take that as testimony to their effectiveness. Sure, you can probably take somebody down with either a .50 cal desert eagle hand held anti-aircraft pistol or a .22 pea shooter, but when your life is at risk, which would you trust more for stopping power? I believe that is applicable to fuel lines, as well.

Yeah, I'm happy to be getting back into the 951 game as well. I don't even have it yet and I am already planning what I am going to do to it.

I'll have to buy one new strut and spring to get my leda's up and running, and also an M030 Front Sway bar to get the handling to the level of the old one.

And then I'm going to want to upgrade the brakes, and there making S4 Calipers fit on these cars is a huge pain in the butt, so I'll have to go with big reds. But that means I'll need new wheels, so there for I'll be buying some Kinesis K28R's (17 inch wheels with centers of thier 18 inch wheels, hard to explain but they look good).

So I'll need to throw about 4.5K at the car and I'll have a car that I can be very happy with.
