Olli,

Did you change out your mirrors and door handles, or was that just Hans? I can't see from the pictures as everything melts to black. Your car is a dead ringer for mine, except I have some wide BBS RS wheels on it.

Looks like Turbo-Tommy has the US spec fog/driving light as the driving side appears to be blocked off. He should change that out before they stop making the full lens.

Hi,
yup, you're right, I have those US fog lights, unfortunatelly.
I just bought that car a few months ago, and haven't got the time to change them.
Especially I miss the euro-lights now, cause it's dark most of the day at this time of year,
and as said before, I'm drivin the car daily

And yes, Olli has those 968 mirrors and handles...

Dan,
As Tommy wrote I have 968 mirrors & handles on my car.My car is a US spec car but it has been modified to little bit more to euro spec.Fog/driving lights are euro model. Also there are clear side repeters installed into front fenders.Side marker lights has been painted to transparent black.Tommy,Pete and I are waiting for clear side markers since all of us have a US spec 951’s.
I allready have clear front blinker lenses, Tommy & Pete are also going to have them. Most upgrades what we are doing just now are for lightning. We’re going to have also those clear rear repeter lenses…
After that the next step will be brakes and some Guru Racing stuff.

T-Tommy, get those euro spec. dual lights as soon as you can. As I understand it, Bosch sold off that product line and who knows how long the new people will keep making them. As far as I know, we (951 & S2) are the only cars that take them and there aren't that many of us left in the world. I'm actually thinking about buying a spare pair of lenses to tuck away.

Olli, your car looks nice having the side markers blacked off with the transparent black paint. Once you get the front turn signals in clear from the Swedes I would like to see some pictures as I think I will do the same. I'm not going to add side repeaters as I don't want to punch a hole in the galvanizing. I think I will just rewire the stock side markers to repeat on turn flashing so people next to me can see I'm getting ready to change lanes.

I'm pretty sure I know what the clear front turn signals will look like but I want your comments on the quality, etc. before I send them a check.

What are you thinking on the brakes, Big Reds? And what are you going to do about rotors?

Dan,
the quality of these clear front lenses are quite good. It's not the same as original, but i can live with that. All visible parts of these lenses are like factory ones.
Most finns who hangs around on Rennlist (944) are my friends. We live quite close each other and we are trying to keep cost down.Thats why we are making some group orders.
For brakes Pete & i have thinked either 928 GTS units or Big reds.I have not yet thinked about rotors. We're trying to locate a good (cheap) vendor here in europe. Also it's seem to be quite expensive to pay about 200$ for adapters. If only we have a specs of these we could have them manufactured by qualified shop quite resonable price.Of course those who know would not tell us...
I suppose i will also get an extra pair of new fog/driving lights if there is a possibilty they close down manufacturing.I have an extra pair used ones.

Olli, If the clear lenses meet your quality inspection, just order me a pair with the group and I will send you a check. E-mail me at wraydan@msn.com so we can figure out the best currency form. I don't think the Finns are on EUR (that is the trading symbol for the euro) yet, are you? It has climbed quite a bit and is about par with the US Greenback.

Just send me a note and I will make things happen on this side.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks for the tip.
I most definatelly will try to get them.
Actually, we will propably gather some 951/S2 guys here in Finland, and make a group order to save same € (=EUR).
How about it, Olli, Pete..

My former 944 had those "extra high beam lights", and I do miss that visibility..

Even we in the USA know Anders hit a patch of black ice. Really did a number on his car. I think it is a gonner and parts only, now.

Sad.

Actually, the euro is a couple of strokes up on the dollar and has been since about day 3 after its release.

Actually it wasn't until around July of this year that the euro actually went up on the dollar. Back early this year, 1 euro would only get you about .85 cents US. Trust me, i'm a finance guru. Oh, and just go check out yahoo finance if you don't believe me...you euro boys have only had us for about a total of 4 months since the euro was introduced, give or take a few months.

I just wanted to make sure we don't give false information, then jimmy will go tell his friends that and they would all laugh at him...poor kid. But you are right, right now 1 euro will get you $1.03 dollars. K, back to bed. Take care all.

Talking

Look at this topic! From a picture of two cars to tyres, then to blinkers and high beams, from which we move to a crashed car and currency!

We sure can make a discussion fellows!!!
