Default "!" light on for no reason!

Hey guys,

My "!" is on for no reason today. Usually my ABS light is on so I don't really pay attention to it, but today the ABS was actually functioning! Only thing is the damn light was STILL on! Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this?

No, the brake pad wear sensors on my car are bypassed. The large "!" at the top center of the cluster is what I'm talking about.

Check the emergency brake button... easiest solution first.

ABS functions, as I hear it's self test when I start rolling. E-brake light goes out tho, that can still cause the "!" to come on?

Low on brake fluid? That will cause it to turn on.

No other lights are on, brake fluid is fine. I don't understand why no other warning lights are on.

Mine was coming on last week at the track and I was freaking a little, but oil pressure was showing 4 -5 bar. Mine was a bit low on fluid and on track out of tight corners it was shifting the brake fluid and the light was coming on.

That's all I've got... I don't have an e-brake

The only time I've had that light come on is e brake and oil (hard cornering or right before a catastrophic engine failure). Probably want to figure that out before you drive too much.

Your car could be low on oil? And then your engine oil light doesnt work or something. Just check on your fluids and then just drive it and see if it changes or goes out.

I'll take that over a lubrication issue every time!

True, but I knew it wasn't a lubrication problem. Oil/coolant/brake fluid had been checked already.
