wheels and offsets

my brother said to stay with a 18" wheel for my s2 but i see a lot of wheel options for my car that are 19" will these work or are they trying to just sell wheels

yeah, mynus2 is my little brother in Dallas, I have had 3 different 944/951 cars over the years and he just bought his first....the force is strong but he has much to learn...he's a douche.
